Part 2 - DIY camera bag project...

Previous post I already show the tools and materials for this project.... and here I show you again..

Now let me show you the result. Using the Polystyrene previously given when I bought my dad computer. I cut into half and stick them together to make it like this.

Then the inside part I put a layer of bubble wrap and then use the and make a shape to hold the camera still like this. For the final part I wrap again the entire Polystyrene with bubble wrap to avoid any impact to my camera.

At the bottom I make another cushion using bubble wrap and put some paper in it. This is to avoid impact from bottom.

And this is the result.... It fit into my backpack with no problem...

This design is just for temporally use with only carry one camera body with lens... if you happen to carry a lot lenses with you then this is not for you. But you can always modify to carry more lens... for now I only got one lens which is 18-55mm. Thanks for reading it ^^

Is been awhile I din post anything here... lately nothing much happen beside poor poor and poor... Bought the bloody camera and I'm broke... I been trying to safe money to buy a camera backpack easy for me to travel around. Well there is a freebie camera bag while I bought my camera but is just tooooo obvious people know I carry a big ass camera. Beside that, the camera bag they give just not really something I want... IS JUST TOO RED... But is a nice bag like I mention previous which is the same bag design with Crumpler < -- Not Cheap duh!!! So this idea kick in while I'm freaking poor which is a not bad at all... I start to search around my room and found some material for my DIY style camera bag.

Here are the material and tools that I'm going to use...

The Art of Typography

Recently I found some great art idea from some talented people in Youtube posting Typography art work. Typography is the art and techniques of type design modifying the style, and arranging the type. It was mostly modified using variety of illustration techniques.

Now entering the new era, typography is no longer any static graphic appear on the paper. Its now becomes animated in many movies especially in the credit part. One of it is from the movie The Bourne Trilogy. Every ending it comes with some simple and cool typography.

This morning wake up feels so wasted nothing to do… So end up I took my friend suggestion went KL sniffs around for camera price which I can’t think of anything else better to do.

At first we plan to go for Sungei Wang but we end up in Berjaya Time Square. There we suddenly feel like watch a movie but the line is just too damn long to queue. So we went to Pavilion GSC. What movie we watching? 27 Dresses… yup damn right 2 guys end up watching some crazy wedding movie…. I really wish my girlfriend around with me and watch together because she really digs into this movie.

If not movie what else can we do? Shopping? Screw la….

A story about a woman who always tries to help out people around her for their wedding but somehow she kind of lost herself in what she been looking for in her life. Starting with Katherine Heigl and James Marsden. Two hottest in one show… BEST!!! I don’t want to talk much about the movie because I am no spoiler…. All I can say is sweet movie and nice ending. I will give an 8/10 for this movie.

If you trust me then watch if not ignore.

Today when my friend asking me about my blogspot url for some Photoshop tutorial I wrote and he asking me why the hell I go put a dash in between the kornykornelius. Without thinking too much I told him that when I register that time kornykornelius this name already been taken so terpaksa add the dash... With this question I feel something weird happen… I start asking myself who the hell in this world to get such a weirdo like me using this kind of nickname... so I go type kornykornelius.blogspot.com... WHAT A SHOCK!!! Is my own blog back in 2004... with just only one post... introducing the world with my new blog... Kanasai…

Back in 2004 I was just trying to know more about blog but in the end I failed to continue until recently. If I know I would use back that account. Everything great now with current account... haih... sienz... why something so important I forget leh...

Hopefully my reader will continue check out my current blog... the old blog will put a side see if there is any chance I will use back. Dammit... I’m soooooo blur...

Guess who I saw today?? Kenny Sia… Who is that? From certain hardcore blogger surely know. Kenny Sia is one of the famous Blogger from Malaysia YA MALAYSIA BOLEH!!! He now more likes a Blog Celebrity. Why call him celebrity?? He is one of the judges in “Malaysian Dream Girl” show. If you still can’t get it or don’t know? LOOK AROUND SEE IF ANY NICE WALL AND BANG YOUR HEAD. Not say to promote his name or what… He is one of my favorite real time role model. Just wish someday I can achieve what he had done.

Anyway the story starts when I was walking around with my girlfriend and my friend in Pavilion. While we walk to this fashion show launching event then saw Kenny Sia walking around with his big Nikon DSLR camera ( I guess he was looking for some hot chick to take photo somehow meet these two bugger walking toward (Bugger = me and chin yau)). At first we are not sure whether is him or not, but my friend and I don’t want to waste our chance and so we walk toward to take picture with him. Without letting us down, he agrees to let us take photo with him… Respect MAN… Somehow I feel nervous (pai say) to say something so end up just some casual hello thing and snap photo then thanks good bye… haih… hopefully someday we got chance sit down and have a nice conversation.

He is very friendly and with good impression I will terus support your blog and keep track with your lawak adventure. Thx Kenny!!!

J-Co Donut in Pavilion with sad and angry experience.

First time went J-Co Donut in Pavilion but with sad and angry experience. Usually there are lot people queues up to buy donuts. For some of you been to Pavilion J-Co should know there are too many hungry people queuing up there.

Today we went a bit early so there is nobody queuing… since we don’t know how the ordering process goes we straight walk to the counter there because there are NO BODY QUEUING and only one person in front us there paying for her donuts. Then this counter girl asked us goes behind there start choosing our donuts (where the queuing line starts which STILL NOBODY THERE). So everything was fine until this bugger which is too free and kepo standing there nothing to do told us we should go behind there and start from there because we CUT QUEUE. WTF?!??!?! NOBODY QUEUING and some more try to be a smart ass explain in Malay telling us we POTONG QUEUE. Screw You!!! YOU FXXCKING SPOILED J-Co REPUTATION.

Matahati Art Exhibition

This morning I went to meet my buddy at KLCC who just came back from Singapore… while waiting my friend arrived ( As usual he always late…and I don't feel like mention his name yung yee... oppss... ) I saw this art exhibition by our Malaysian talented artist. The art gallery calls Matahati organized by Galeri Petronas. The whole gallery shows art collection by Ahmad Faud Osman, Ahmad Shukri Mohamad, Bayu Utomo Radjikin, Hamir Soib @ Mohamed and Masnoor Ramli Mahmud. I know nothing about this kind of artistic thing so I cut the crap for the intro part and see for yourself. Hehe… I just feel like taking pictures that’s all. The next thing I quickly ready my camera and go in and snap a few shot. Usually I don’t bring my camera out but somehow today… THANK GOD…

Angels & Airwaves is back!!! Lately only realizes that they came out their second album on 1st of November 2007… The "I-Empire" damn… I’m outdated… Their first album “We Don't Need To Whisper” for me is one of the best.

Mum always said is not healthy eating cup noodle… ya is true… but only once in a while when you are lazy move your ass up to cook yourself a meal. This one mmm… yummy… some Japanese cup noodle crab chilli flavor… it makes Cintan mee and Maggi mee real bad… well you can’t compare with that because Cintan and Maggi mee are cheap and taste like crap…. MUST TRY!!!

( P/s Market price is Rm 3.++ quite expensive for a cup noodle… )

High dynamic range imaging

High Dynamic Range Imaging a.k.a HDRI. This is one of the interesting parts of editing your photo. For those who own a DSLR camera this might be useful for you. HDRI is actually technique combination between computer graphics and photography. The purpose of HDRI is to show the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadow ( range value between light and dark areas).

I’m going to show you some simple steps to give you the idea of HDRI. And to differencing the different exposure picture merge into HDRI before and after for you to compare.

Here are the set of 3 original different exposure picture taken from my friend Sony Alpha 200 DSLR camera (Thanks to Thoh).

First you need Photoshop CS. The one I’m currently using is CS3 version.

Step 1

Go to File > Automate > Merge HDR

Step 2

Click Browse and select the pictures then press OK

Step 3

Adjust the white according your preferable and set to 8 bits. (This is to save it as JPEG format later)

Step 4

Done! You now can save the picture any format you want or start edit the photo with other effect.

This is the simple example what I did add with some effect.

Try this with your photo and see how it looks like.

Fun and easy Polarizer Effect in Photoshop !!!

Recently I found out something quite interesting about photo editing on the internet. This is quite simply and all you need is Adobe Photoshop. Most people will call this technique the Digital Polarizer similar to the traditional polarizer. Well you might ask what the hell polarizer… well a little to know, is been use my many photographer taking nice picture. It shows more effect in term of the better, richer image.

Here are the steps:

1. Open the picture you wish edit.

2. Second duplicate the picture.

3. Now you see there are two layers of picture.

4. Select the one at the top layer, move your mouse select image at the tool bar, from the drop down list select "Adjustment". Again from the drop list select the "Channel Mixer".

5. The "Channel Mixer" windows will pop out. From there tick the "Monochrome" and use the setting as below.

6. Once finish click ok

7. Then from the layer select the one you just finish with the channel mixer and set it "Overlay".

8. Now you can merge the layer together and export it.

9. Congratulation you just finish a simple yet nice polarizer effect.

To show how cool is that these are some of the examples I did

Try this with any of your picture, to spice up more you can try with other filtering effect and add with polarizer effect. Use your creativeness. Personally I prefer this effect use on those sky view and open ground nature..

Something that can't get out of my mind lately... (Lately quite emo ^^) nice song although quite some time back in the 90's but still this she roxx.

A little something that you might not know, Lisa Loeb is the only artist to top the Hot 100 before being signed to any record label with this song. The story behind she was discover by her friend Ethan Hawke (from the movie "Lord of War" as Agent Jack Valentine) gave a tape of Loeb's song "Stay" to Ben Stiller during making the film "Reality Bites" and ultimately become number one hit in American charts.

JobStreet I LOVE MY JOB PHOTO CONTEST!!!

For those who don't know what Jobstreet is pretty much screwed up in his/her life... (Apply to all Malaysian and pretty much some other asian countries). Anyway my experience with Jobstreet is awesome!!! Why? Because my current job I saw it from Jobstreet Hehe.... Thx for Jobstreet else i now would be nothing.

Any way I’m goanna make it short, recently Jobstreet launch a contest call “I LOVE MY JOB PHOTO CONTEST”. Actually I’m not that into contest thingy due to my super doper bad luck in every contest, lucky draw and so on…. BUT hehe…. the first prize Canon 400D DSLR camera… SWEEEEET….(Market Price is around RM2xxx) Something that I don’t have and want it soooooo MUCH… The contest is pretty easy… All you need to do is you need a job (yeah…) and take a picture of yourself showing how you love your job… group with colleague or anything… So I took the challenge by sending one of the pictures during the last day of Chinese New Year group photo with the lion dance. Actually is not my favorite picture to send but hopefully I able to snap better one and send again. I wonder if they allow....

This one…. I look like I just woke up

Anyway I hope I win something… or not… but still I love my job (Canon 400D sweeeeet duh~)

Lately I've been poison by my colleague about getting a DSLR camera... kanasai... something that I should avoid but the force is too strong. Why izzit so different with ordinary digital camera that most people use? Well it capture better picture QUALITY!!!

For your information is not cheap getting a DSLR camera, market price range is around RM1.7k ~ RM 2.5k. And that’s only for entry level, when you go up to pro you will realize how pain it is. Why say so? Hmm... let me tell you now. Getting know how to use a DSLR camera is not easy, there are many things to control like ISO, shutter speed, aperture priority and etc... Until now I still catch no ball... is better to try out by getting a DSLR camera. Read from many forums and heard from many SIFU and they only tell you the same thing... “It requires a lot of practice, experience and money too.” When I say money, are not just you buying a DSLR camera that it... YOUR camera needs friends, friends like lens, flash and other accessories.

What is the purpose getting a DSLR camera? Feel free to check out those pictures taken using DSLR camera and you know how good it is. There are many things you can play with different types of lens, some of the common one like zoom lens, wide angle, marco and many more. Personally I love the effect done using fish eye lens. It something looks like this.

Cool leh... something that normal compact can't do.

Taking good pictures is not always about mega pixels. Sometime I feel that mega pixels more like pushing the market. So what actually mega pixels do? Is a term used not only for the number of pixels in an image, but also to express the number of image sensor elements of digital cameras or the number of display elements of digital displays. Unless you really want to print out a huge poster size photo then the bigger the better. Other than that is all about the effects and image quality I mention above.

The DSLR is in a whole different league of its own. In terms of image quality-wise and the ability to focus so quick and so good. Is good to have a good camera to practice become a better photographer. Personally I love good picture, many time when I go travel I hate myself not having any good camera with me to snap a few shot

Money is the biggest issues... cause I don’t have any... Damn...
